This model set is oriented around intermediary mammalian metabolism consisting of glucose and fatty acid metabolism, purine nucleosides and nucleotides, energetics, oxidative phosphorylation, PCr buffering, and the regulation of substrate transport. These form the core of cellular metabolism and provide a part of the "eternal cell", one without preteolysis or protein synthesis. The primitive metabolic model will serve as a basis for adding signalling paths.
Primitive components are provided as examples of reactions, first uncatalyzed, then catalyzed.
